Crowns
Broken, misshapen, or weak teeth can be painful and just generally uncomfortable. Not only that, but they can cause you to lose confidence in your beautiful smile. Fortunately, there is a solution!
While often used to hold dental implants and bridges in place, dental crowns are also a great way to strengthen weak teeth and restore your confidence!
Receiving a Dental Crown
How many appointments will it take to have a dental crown implanted? What is the procedure like? How can I know if a dental crown is right for me?
Dental crowns are usually applied over two visits. In the first visit, our friendly and compassionate team here at Platinum Dental Daybreak will take digital, low radiation x-rays of your teeth and gums. Then, the dentist will make room for the crown by numbing the tooth and gums with a local anesthetic and removing any unhealthy tooth structure. Then, a putty or paste will be placed around the tooth to make an impression, and a temporary crown will be placed. From there, our dentist will consult with you about options regarding the material your dental crown can be made of. The impression will be sent to a lab where the permanent crown will be made, and in the second visit, your new permanent crown will be placed.
