Improvements to the
frenectomy procedure
Getting a frenectomy is easier and safer than ever while using a dental laser. It is much less invasive, painful, and eliminate the need for sutures. It also reduces or eliminates the risk of infection.
Some children who struggle with a speech impediment, or find it hard to eat can find relief by getting a frenectomy.
A simple intro to a Frenectomy
A Frenectomy is a surgery that is used to remove excess frenal tissue. A frenum is a small muscular fold that attaches two tissues together. The purpose of the frenum is to limit muscle movements which prevents tissue damage.
There are two different kinds of frenums in the mouth. The first is the lingual frenum which connects the tongue to the bottom of the mouth. The second is called a labial frenum which connects the lips to the gums above or below the teeth.
